Can I safely place things on top of artificial grass

Yes, you can. Artificial grass can be used for anything, trade fairs, offices, and you can safely place furniture on it without any damage. You could even use it for barbecues, it won’t ignite, so it’s quite safe to use. Keep in mind that it may leave a mark however. It may be a good idea if you use artificial grass with sand because this stop it going up in flame.

Will my artificial grass lose its colour over time?

You’ll be pleased to know although there may be a little fading over a long period of time, artificial grass is specially treated against discolouration and UV damage.

How long does artificial grass last?

Artificial grass, as we have seen, can last anything up to 15 years, on an active football pitch, this is likely to be around 8 years. Your initial investment then is well worth it because it lasts such a long time.

Can you cut and shape artificial grass?

Yes you can. You can do this with a pair of scissors or a Stanley knife.

Will weeds grow through my artificial grass?

Yes it is a real possibility, however you can easily brush them away if any do come through.

Is artificial grass friendly to the environment?

Yes it is! It doesn’t need to be watered, nor does it need herbicides, pesticides or feeds – so there’s no use of harmful chemicals. You also don’t need to cut it, so you’ll be able to put away your lawn mower and save on electricity or fuel. 

Are children and pets able to play on it safely?

Yes of course! Artificial grass is made to be strong and is made to high safety standards. They pass a lot of tests before they’re considered fit to sell. Artificial grass is made for soft landings too, so if you fall you don’t graze your skin.
