Artificial grass is such a versatile and hard-wearing surface for your garden or commercial property that we can’t recommend it enough. We’ve seen enough satisfied customers over the years and installed it for enough happy clients to know that it’s a great success.
If you’re thinking of installing artificial grass, you may be on the fence because winter looms. Should you install it in winter? We think you could and can, so that’s what we’re going to be covering in our post today.
Why should you install artificial grass in winter?
The winter is the perfect time to be installing artificial grass because it’s less likely you’re going to be spending any time in it. With this in mind, you don’t need to worry that it’ll be unavailable, you’ll have all the time for it to be installed and then left for a short time to settle. Once the warm weather comes, you’ll have a beautiful lawn to sit out in and enjoy the sun. Rather than trying to install it in spring or summer when you’re going to want to make the most of the beautiful weather, by doing it in winter you’re giving yourself a fighting chance in getting it just right, letting it lie and then being able to enjoy it.
You’ll also find that during the winter season artificial grass can be considerably cheaper. It’s a quieter period and you may be able to bag yourself a bargain and pay much less than you would in a busier season. Then you’ll have money left over to spend on other things, perhaps some garden furniture or cooking equipment for those long summer evenings when you’re out in the garden entertaining. You may find it’s a little easier to get it installed it, and perhaps at a cheaper rate, as installers are more often available in winter and more in demand in summer.
Artificial grass provides excellent drainage. Artificial grass is perfect for the winter too when you’ll be getting frost, snow and mud. Thankfully artificial grass comes with such good drainage you won’t have to worry about that too much. And it’s also much safer to walk on in winter even when there’s cold weather because it has a brilliant non-slip surface.
